Masada
My book is called Masada, written by Gloria D. Miklowitz , and it is published by Eardmans books. Also the main character is called Masada.
In 72 C.E. in the country of Judea [modern day Israel] 960 Jewish zealots lived on a mountain fortress called Masada. It was. Also on the shoreline of the Dead Sea. The mountains rose 1,200 feet off the ground it stood as the twin towers did in New York.
The main plot of the story is the Romans were in a war with Judea. The fortress of Masada was the last place in all of Judea that wasn’t taken by the Romans. The Romans didn’t want to go hand to hand combat with such a small fortress so the Romans cut off all the food and water supply that the fortress had. But the fortress of masada was prepared and they had sent some peasants out to get rein reinforcements from nearby countries. The Romans were forced to retreat and the fortress was saved.
I don’t recommend this book because gets to climax of the story very slowly and it is basically in the first half of the story about it is about the Jews running around thinking about if they Romans come their fortress.
