I am reading Adam of the Road by Elizabeth Janet Gray. The main character in the story is Adam Quartermayne, who has been looking for his father since Easter. His father left him at a place in London, England. Adam got many gifts when he was left like a bag full of silver coins. I'm not that far right now because I'm only on page 14, but Adam lives with school boys and is eager for his father to come home.

It is June, 1294 right now in my book. I'm on page 14 and I'm looking forward to Adam's father, Roger Quartermayne, coming back to Roger Quartermayne to come back to Adam which I think is going to happen. However, another option might be that Rick will go looking for his father because the title is in fact, Adam of the Road.

I'm a little further now in my book. I found out the few things that makes Adam comfortable:his harp, his dog Nick, and his friend Perkin. Adam is not aloud to have his dog in the school, where he lives, so a lady across the street keeps it for him. Sometimes Adam will find the time to go say hi or play with Nick after school.

Adam is still waiting for his dad to come home, I'm starting to think that Adam's dad will eventually come to get Adam. Otherwise, Adam will go looking for his father with his dog and harp, because I don't think Perkin will go along. I think this because Perkin is wanting to go to school when he's older to learn the laws. He wants to become the king's cheif editor. He'll probably stay at school to accomplish his dream.

I have finally disproved/proved my prediction. In Adam of the Road by Elizabeth Janet Gray, Adam's dad Roger, the minster, finally came. He had been doing work for a lord or king. He came back with a great war horse and Adam has decided to go with his dad to do whatever his father does. Roger travels alot because he follows the guy he's working for. Adam is taking his dog Nick, who follows the gray war horse, while Adam rides with his dad. Adam was sad that he had to leave his friend, but is over it now that he's traveling. He met this girl that he absolutely likes and is quite embarrased when he tries to play his harp while his dad tells a story, but he had forgotten to tune his harp so it sounded awful. Right now Adam and his dog are walking with the crowd that his dad travels in because he decided not to ride in the carriage with the girl because he is embarassed. That is how far I am right now, but I will try to get further tonight.

In Adam of the Road by Elizabeth Janet Gray, Adam, the minstrel's son, has finally arrived with Roger to their destination. They are at London now. On the way there, Adam met a squire and had a very nice conversation with him. He met the squire when he was walking beside the carriage. They talked about the music that Roger had sang and then Adam played the song for the squire. The squire really liked the way Adam sang and played his harp so the squire joined in with his flute. Anyway, at afternoon Adam and the crowd got their first look at London and now the grooms and stablemen are feeding and bedding the horses.

I predict that Adam will get so excited being at this new land, that he will lose Nick or not notice when someone takes him. Overall, I think that Nick, the dog, will be gone.

Pages: idk and honestly, who cares!? does it matter??

There is a guy named Hugh that Adam has met and didn't like. However, when Adam took his war horse, Bayard, out to show the group of boys in London, Hugh seemed to brighten up towards Adam. It wasn't until the third day he was in London that he was finally noticed by the group of boys. Also, Adam's friend the squire, Simon, is teaching Adam many new things. Adam is always speaking with Simon because Simon loves to chat about his love, Emilie, music, and teaching Adam what you call groups of things. For example: a flight of swallows. Adam is now spending every oppurtunity he can with Hugh. They play games and sing silly songs as if they were in kindegarten.

Here is my prediction, I think that Adam and Hugh are going to become very good friends and are going to walk or ride together when they travel. And who knows? Maybe Adam will forget all about that girl he liked. :]
